Frequently asked questions

What should I pack for the safari?

Pack light, neutral-colored clothing (khaki, green, brown), comfortable closed-toe shoes, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, binoculars, and a camera with extra batteries. Evenings can be cool, so bring a light jacket.

What does "book-a-seat" mean on this group safari?

You reserve an individual seat rather than an entire vehicle. The group is capped at 6 guests per vehicle, so you're guaranteed a window seat and unobstructed game viewing across all six days.

Will we see Mount Kilimanjaro from Amboseli?

On a clear day, yes. Kilimanjaro views over Amboseli are best in the dry seasons, June to October and January to February; cloud cover can obscure the peak at other times, though the elephant herds and game viewing remain excellent year-round.

When can we see the wildebeest migration on this itinerary?

The Great Wildebeest Migration Mara River crossings occur between July and October, with the heaviest activity in August and September, covered on Day 2 of this itinerary.

Can this be booked as a private safari instead?

Yes. This exact itinerary can also run privately on any date, with your own dedicated vehicle and driver-guide. Ask us for private rates.

How much driving is involved across the six days?

Five separate road legs totaling around thirteen to fourteen hours: Nairobi to the Mara, the Mara to Nakuru, Nakuru to Naivasha, Naivasha to Amboseli, and Amboseli back to Nairobi, each with rest stops built in.

Is single accommodation available for solo travelers?

Yes, for a single supplement at all four properties. Solo travelers can also choose to share a room with another same-gender traveler on the same departure to avoid the supplement, subject to availability.
