Your 6 Days Tanzania Safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha by your professional safari driver-guide. After a warm welcome and a short safari briefing, depart for Tarangire National Park, approximately two to three hours away.

Tarangire is one of Tanzania’s most remarkable wildlife destinations, celebrated for its enormous elephant populations, ancient baobab trees and beautiful riverine landscapes. Upon entering the park, embark on an exciting game drive through its diverse habitats in search of elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes and numerous antelope species.

The Tarangire River provides an important water source for wildlife, particularly during the dry season, attracting impressive concentrations of animals and creating excellent opportunities for wildlife photography.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated location before continuing your afternoon game drive. Explore more of the park’s scenic landscapes while your guide shares insights into its wildlife and ecosystem.

Later in the afternoon, exit the park and proceed towards Karatu, a charming highland town surrounded by fertile farmland, coffee plantations and rolling green hills.

Arrive at your lodge in the evening for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

Overnight: Safari Lodge in Karatu

Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner

Day 2: Karatu – Ngorongoro Crater – Central Serengeti | Into the Heart of the Wilderness

After an early breakfast, depart for the magnificent Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home to one of Africa’s most extraordinary natural landscapes.

Your journey takes you towards the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its exceptional wildlife concentration and spectacular volcanic scenery.

Descend approximately 600 metres into the crater for an unforgettable game drive across its diverse habitats. The crater floor features open grasslands, freshwater springs, acacia woodlands and wetlands that support an incredible variety of wildlife.

Search for the Big Five, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards and the endangered black rhinoceros. Other wildlife commonly encountered includes zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, spotted hyenas and hippos. Flamingos and other waterbirds may also be seen around the soda lake when conditions are favourable.

Enjoy a picnic lunch within the crater before ascending towards the crater rim and continuing your journey into Serengeti National Park.

As you approach Central Serengeti, the scenery gradually opens into vast golden grasslands dotted with granite kopjes and scattered acacia trees. This region is particularly famous for its resident big cats and year-round wildlife populations.

Your experienced safari guide will help you explore areas known for lion prides, elusive leopards and cheetahs. Watch as predators patrol the open plains, while herds of zebras, wildebeests and gazelles graze across the grasslands.

Central Serengeti is also home to elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hyenas and numerous bird species, making it an excellent destination for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers.

Northern Serengeti is particularly renowned for the Great Wildebeest Migration, when enormous herds of wildebeests and zebras move towards the Mara River in search of fresh grazing. Between approximately July and October, depending on seasonal conditions and herd movements, this region may offer opportunities to witness dramatic river crossings.

The Mara River is one of the most famous wildlife landmarks in East Africa. Watching wildebeests gather along its banks before attempting to cross is an extraordinary safari experience. However, river crossings are unpredictable and cannot be guaranteed.
