At Afrikan Accent Adventures, we believe that paying for your safari should be the easiest part of your journey. Planning an African adventure is exciting — the payment process should never slow you down or leave you second-guessing. That is why we have adopted the most secure, flexible and traveller-friendly payment methods available in the industry today, whether you are booking from Nairobi, New York, London or anywhere else in the world.
Below is a complete guide to every payment option we offer: how each one works step by step, how long each takes to reflect, and which option best suits your situation.
1. Credit & Debit Card Payments
Secure online payment links — the fastest way to confirm your booking.
How it works
You receive the link. Once your booking is confirmed, our reservations team emails you a personalised payment link together with your invoice, showing the exact amount due.
You click and pay. The link opens a secure, encrypted payment page where you enter your card details yourself. Your card information is never shared with us and never passes through our hands.
You get instant confirmation. As soon as the payment goes through, both you and our team receive automatic confirmation, and your booking is updated immediately.
Our trusted payment partners
We generate payment links through three fully licensed and regulated platforms:
I&M Bank — our primary banking partner. Their gateway offers bank-grade security with full PCI-DSS compliance, meaning your card details are protected to the highest international standard.
Pesapal — one of East Africa’s leading and longest-established online payment platforms, trusted by thousands of businesses across the region for over a decade.
Triply — our newest payment partner, adopted for one specific reason: to save you money. Third-party processors always charge a transaction surcharge, and we continually look for ways to minimise this cost for our clients. With Triply you enjoy a surcharge that is 2.5% lower than standard card processing fees — a saving we pass directly on to you rather than absorbing it as a hidden markup.
Cards we accept
Visa · Mastercard · American Express — both credit and debit cards are accepted across all three platforms.
Why choose card payment
Perfect for international travellers — pay from anywhere in the world, in minutes, without visiting a bank.
Fast confirmation — payments reflect almost instantly, so your booking is secured right away.
Maximum security — every transaction is protected by industry-standard encryption and 3D Secure verification (Verified by Visa / Mastercard SecureCode).
Full records — you receive an electronic receipt for every transaction, and your card statement provides an additional record.
Good to know• A small card-processing surcharge applies. This is charged by the payment platform, not by us, and we will always tell you the exact amount before you pay — no surprises.• If you would prefer to avoid card surcharges entirely, a direct bank transfer is your best option.• Payment links are time-limited for your security. If yours expires, simply let us know and we will resend a fresh one immediately.
2. Bank Transfer, Bank Deposit & RTGS
The oldest and most trusted method — and still the favourite for larger bookings.
A bank payment is a direct bank-to-bank transaction with no intermediaries, no card networks and no processing platforms in between. Money moves straight from your account to ours. This is exactly why so many of our clients — particularly those booking large safaris, honeymoons, group trips and multi-country itineraries — prefer it.
Why clients love bank payments
Zero card surcharges. You pay only the invoiced amount, plus any transfer fee your own bank may charge on their end. On larger bookings this can represent a significant saving.
No card limits. Many credit and debit cards carry daily or per-transaction ceilings. Bank transfers handle large sums with no such restrictions, making them ideal for premium packages and group bookings.
A clear, official paper trail. Both parties receive formal bank records — a transfer confirmation on your side and a credit advice on ours — giving you indisputable proof of payment.
Bank-level security. Your funds move through regulated banking channels supervised by the Central Bank, with no third party involved at any stage.
a) International / SWIFT transfer
For clients paying from outside Kenya. We provide our complete banking details — account name, account number, branch and SWIFT/BIC code — so your bank can send funds directly to our I&M Bank account from anywhere in the world.
Timeline: typically 2–5 working days to reflect, depending on your bank and country.
Important tip: instruct your bank to send the payment with charges marked “OUR”, so that intermediary bank fees are covered on your side and the full invoiced amount arrives. If fees are deducted along the way, the shortfall would need to be topped up.
Currency: we can invoice in USD or KES — simply tell us which is more convenient for you.
b) Local transfer or over-the-counter deposit
For clients within Kenya.
Local transfer: send the amount directly from your bank account via your banking app, internet banking or a branch instruction, using our account details. Local interbank transfers usually reflect within a few hours to one working day.
Cash or cheque deposit: walk into any I&M Bank branch countrywide and deposit the amount directly into our account over the counter. Quote our account details, keep your stamped deposit slip, and send us a photograph of it — we will confirm receipt and update your booking straight away.
c) RTGS — Real-Time Gross Settlement
RTGS is a premium interbank service in which your payment is processed individually and immediately, rather than being batched together with other transactions.
Timeline: funds typically reflect the same business day, often within a few hours.
Best for: larger payments where time matters — for example when your safari departs soon and the payment must be confirmed quickly, but the amount is too large for a card and a standard transfer feels too slow.
How: simply ask your bank to send the payment via RTGS using our account details. Most Kenyan banks offer this through internet banking or at any branch.
After you payWhichever bank method you use, please email or WhatsApp us a copy of your transfer confirmation, deposit slip or SWIFT advice (MT103). Our accounts team will verify the funds, acknowledge receipt in writing, issue your official receipt and update your booking status immediately.
3. Cash Payments
For genuine last-minute bookings made within 24 hours of departure.
We understand that adventure sometimes calls at the very last minute — a free weekend opens up, a friend persuades you to join a departing safari, or you simply decide on the spot that the Mara cannot wait. We never want payment logistics to stand between you and an unforgettable trip.
For clients booking within 24 hours of departure, we accept cash payments purely for speed and convenience, since an international transfer may not reflect in time and even local bank processes can feel rushed.
How cash payment works
Confirm your booking with our reservations team by phone, email or WhatsApp.
Pay in person — either at our offices or to an authorised company representative. We will always tell you in advance, by name, exactly who is authorised to receive your payment.
Receive your official receipt on the spot — every cash payment is receipted immediately and in writing as your proof of payment. Please never hand over cash without receiving an official Afrikan Accent Adventures receipt.
Important notes on cash
Cash is accepted only for genuine last-minute bookings (within 24 hours of departure) where other payment methods cannot clear in time. For all standard bookings we kindly ask that you use one of the methods above.
Accepted currencies: Kenya Shillings (KES) or US Dollars (USD). If paying in USD, please note that — as is standard across East Africa — notes should be of a recent series and in good condition.
For your own safety, we recommend cash only for reasonable amounts. For larger last-minute payments we can arrange an RTGS transfer, which clears the same business day and spares you from carrying large sums.
