Eco SafariAngama Amboseli
About this property
A tented gem on a private conservancy — intimate luxury where the wild begins at your deck.
Overview
Angama Amboseli is the most exclusive address in the Amboseli ecosystem: an intimate lodge of just ten tented suites hidden in a yellow fever-tree forest inside Kimana Sanctuary — Kenya’s first community-owned conservancy — with Mount Kilimanjaro towering beyond the canopy. This is the realm of Africa’s last Super Tuskers, bull elephants whose tusks sweep the ground as they walk, and Angama guests enjoy exclusive access to the Sanctuary’s 5,700 game-filled acres as well as guided safaris into Amboseli National Park. From the team behind the famed Angama Mara, the lodge carries all the brand’s signatures — extraordinary views, contemporary African design, intuitive guiding and warm Kenyan hospitality — and holds a near-perfect 4.9 guest rating.
About the Property
Every element of Angama Amboseli is intentional. The suites take their rounded forms and earthy textures from the elephants themselves — even the concrete is mixed with elephant dung, rooting the buildings in their landscape — and floor-to-ceiling screened glass doors dissolve the boundary between suite and forest. The lodge partners with the Big Life Foundation, which manages the Sanctuary on behalf of its 844 Maasai landowning families; Angama’s lease fees flow directly to those families, protecting the critical wildlife corridor linking Amboseli, the Chyulu Hills and Tsavo West. Guest areas include indoor-outdoor dining, a pool, spa, game room and Angama’s beloved Safari Shop.

Location
The lodge stands among yellow fever acacias in the heart of Kimana Sanctuary, a lush, spring-fed oasis on the migratory corridor between Amboseli, Chyulu Hills and Tsavo West — which is why wildlife density here is the highest in the area: eland, reedbuck, hundreds of warthog, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, plus leopard, lion and prolific birdlife, all beneath the full face of Kilimanjaro just across the Tanzanian border. Amboseli National Park is a 30–50 minute drive for the classic elephant-and-mountain panoramas. Access is effortless: scheduled flights to the Sanctuary’s own Kimana Airfield, private charters welcome, or an easy 3.5-hour paved drive from Nairobi.
Accommodation
Each of the ten tented suites features a super-king, extra-length bed, a personalised drinks armoire, a writing desk and a dressing area leading to a bathroom with double vanity and double shower. Floor-to-ceiling screened doors open the entire Kilimanjaro-facing wall onto a private deck with a shaded lounge, an outdoor shower and Angama’s signature rocking chairs with binoculars at hand. Two pairs of suites interconnect for families — children of all ages are genuinely welcome — and exclusive use of the whole lodge is available on request.
Dining
Dining reflects Angama’s farm-and-forest philosophy: locally rooted flavours prepared with global technique, served wherever the day suggests — the indoor-outdoor dining areas, the forest, private decks or picnic-style out in the Sanctuary. All meals and drinks are included (French Champagne and reserve wines are the only exceptions), and the kitchen delights in personal touches for birthdays, honeymoons and family celebrations.
Facilities
Swimming pool, spa with in-suite massages available, game room, indoor-outdoor lounges and dining, Safari Shop, photographic studio experiences, Wi-Fi throughout, laundry included, childminding each evening (18h00–22h00), private safari vehicles bookable, and the full run of Kimana Sanctuary at your doorstep.
