Flying Safari4 Days Masai Mara Road Safari | Mtito Safari Camp
About this safari
Three nights at a Gold Eco-rated tented camp on the Talek River near Sekenani, with hippos surfacing beside the dining deck and lions calling through the night.
Mtito Safari Camp sits on the Talek River within easy reach of the Sekenani area, one of the most accessible entry points into the Masai Mara National Reserve from Nairobi by road. The camp holds a Gold Eco-rating for its sustainability practices and is working toward eliminating single-use plastics entirely, without giving up the comforts that make a tented camp worth staying in: en-suite tents with private decks, a firepit, and a dining experience where hippos surfacing in the river below are part of the view.
This itinerary is built around straightforward, well-positioned access to the Mara: a single day’s road transfer from Nairobi, three full nights on the river, and two full days of game drives with a short run to the reserve’s nearest gate.
Key Highlights:
- Gold Eco-rated tented camp on the banks of the Talek River

Practical Information:
Physical Requirements
This is an easy safari with one long travel day at the start and end. Game drives take place seated in a private 4×4 Land Cruiser, typically for two to four hours per session. The road transfer between Nairobi and the Mara takes around five to six hours each way, with rest stops built in. No technical terrain or strenuous activity is involved. Guests with mobility concerns should contact us before booking.
Best Time to Visit
July through October is peak season for the Great Wildebeest Migration, with the heaviest river crossing activity in August and September. Outside this window, the Masai Mara’s resident lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant and buffalo populations remain strong year-round, and the Talek River frontage at camp provides consistent wildlife activity regardless of season.
Getting There
This itinerary is entirely road-based. The drive from Nairobi to the Masai Mara covers approximately 225 to 270 kilometres and takes around five to six hours, running through the Rift Valley via Narok. Mtito Safari Camp sits on the Talek River, a short drive from the Sekenani area, one of the reserve’s most direct access points from Nairobi. The same private vehicle and driver-guide handle the return transfer to Nairobi on Day 4.

Safari Bookings · February 2026Exceptional safari experience - seamlessly organised, insightful guides, truly memorable throughout We recently completed a safari in Kenya with Afrikan Accent Adventures, and it was truly an exceptional experience from start to finish. Our itinerary covered the breathtaking Masai Mara, the beautiful Lake Nakuru, scenic Lake Naivasha, and the stunning Amboseli National Park - each destination offering something unique and unforgettable. From incredible wildlife sightings to spectacular landscapes, every day exceeded our expectations. We saw more than we ever imagined - big cats in action, large herds of elephants, rhinos, and countless other animals in their natural habitat. The entire experience was perfectly organised, smooth, and completely stress-free. A very special mention goes to our guide, Nico, who was outstanding. His knowledge of wildlife, sharp eye for spotting animals, and passion for the safari experience made a huge difference. Thanks to him, we saw far more than we expected and learned so much along the way. He was patient, professional, and made every game drive exciting. We would also like to sincerely thank Hellen, the organiser, for putting together such a seamless and well-planned itinerary. Everything - from communication before the trip to accommodations and logistics on the ground - was handled flawlessly. As a group of four friends traveling together, we couldn’t have asked for a better safari. We highly recommend Afrikan Accent Adventures to anyone planning a trip to East Africa. They are truly excellent, and we would absolutely travel with them again!
